Hi,
I have just made my FIRST laser with the LPC-815 laser diode which has about a 650nm wavelength. I am running it at 380mA and it is about 250-300mw, i can not test the exact "mw" at the moment. I bought these goggles too:
Laser Safety Goggles EP2 For 200-380nm & 600-760nm (Red lasers) - Detailed item view - OdicForce Lasers Online Shop

When i made the laser and put on the goggles and the goggles worked by blocking the wavelength but it blocked it completely, i thought that you would still see the laser but it would not be as bright. When i were the goggles it is almost as if the red laser is not on, these goggles are pointless if i can't even see the laser when i am using it. Am i just being a noob or what?

Help please !

EDIT: Do you think that i need to turn the mA up so i get a more powerful laser, the power at the moment is not getting the laser diode hot at all in a 5 min test, so it could go up a fraction...
Thanks :)

EDIT: I have come to a conclusion that the goggles are just too good :)

Dont increase power! u will probably fry ur diode and u will be sad to mess up your first build right? anyway use this link: http://www.safelasers.org/tool_od.php to find out what OD (optical density) u need on your goggles, the higher the optical density is, the less you will see the laser, u know why this happens right? but if u dont il tell u :P it pretty much blocks all 630-680nm light if u have a 4 OD pair of goggles.
