Nope ! It would be 5-10mw at best :( It would be fin if the gamecube was not functioning, and you just wanted to learn more about he laser assembly !

The laser in it still works, but won't play games. Was going to pitch it, but then thought if the laser was worth it I would gut it first.

You can buy a new laser sled for it and bring it back to life.  then once you have the old sled out you can use it to practice getting out the diode.  With these skills you can pull the laser from a dvd burner or a ps3 to make your laser.

adding a new sled is cheaper than buying a new gamecube
