Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and my recent hobby has become burning lasers..
I have a green diode which I took from a disco light device and I want to make a burning laser from it. However, I accidentally broke it!!
The wires were connected to a copper chip(please try to understand) onto which there was another cylindrical chip with a crystal embedded in it.
The crystal thingy was glued on the chip to keep it attached, but it came off!!
Now the laser is not starting!! Can I repair it?? Help please!!
Btw, the laser is class 3B.

You know the saying. "A picture is worth a thousand words" so pics

And seeing this is your first post let me be the first to Welcome you to a great community.

Welcome and enjoy your stay.

I personally don't have much experience with diodes so you might have to wait a bit for the more experienced members to chime in

Thanks.. :)

I can't upload any pics at the current moment, so I guess you all will have to be content with my words.. Heheh..

Anyone whose reading this, please help!!

If you are referring to the DPSS crystals that came loose, it would be better to just buy a new laser. Also, if you want a green burning laser, modding a low powered laser usually won't work.

It is trash
Throw it away and get a new module
When you take things apart without knowing how they work, you learn, but you also take a chance
This time you lost
Suck it up

They are all over eBay

Peace,
dave
