Laser Collection? What do y'all think?

Hey guys,

I decided earlier today that I would challenge myself.

I would try and get 500mW PL-E Pro's in every wavelength JetLasers offers!

I currently have only the 532nm 500mW PL-E PRO

And...

Am currently saving up for the 445nm 500mW PL-E PRO

My hope is to one day, have a rainbow of PL-E Pro's, I have fallen in love with this laser. I absolutely love the host, the quality is great and Gray is a very friendly and respectful person.

Do you guys thinks I could accomplish this?

I also know I will run into troubles for some wavelengths:
Ex: 590/520/500

:thanks:

Why 500mW for each?

That's FAR too ambitious for 589nm :p

(though there should be multimode 520s coming out eventually)

500nm... I think we all run into troubles getting that one :(

Because I just happened to get 500mW 532nm as my first PL-E PRO, so im like what the hec haha :)

I will need to ask aliens to see if they have any 500nm 500mW's left over

In the human realm, your absolute BEST find would be a <20mW engineering sample. Going DPSS you'll find a max of ~2mW.

You might be able to get a 200mW 488nm diode and push that sucker hard and hope you get close, if you have six grand sitting around. And luck to get it accomplished on the first diode. Might only shift to 495nm at most though :p

Lol I got to say this one is going to be tough. Would be an accomplishment to say the least .
But the main wavelengths should be doable. I'm just worried you will not be happy with a 500 mw 445 nm. ;).

 Hehe.

What's there to be unhappy about? 500mW is more power than I like to see. I honestly don't even touch my 445 nor 532... nor 660.

He likes the brightness of his 500mw 532. I didn't want him to think it would be comparable . That's all. Didn't say it wasnt powerfull or a bad choice.

I don't really mind if it isn't as bright, I definitely know it won't be as bright, not even close.

But since I am tight on money and 500mW is sufficient for me(and the collection) it will work :D

If you know what to expect from it, then it will go with the collection nicely :)

Sorry Z. I didn't mean to come off like a power snob. 500mw is very powerful. I just wanted to make sure that he knew it wouldnt be as bright as his 532 . And he does.

Please don't underestimate the power of 500mw. Just don't overestimate it's brightness

I know 500mW(of any wavelength) can be extremely dangerous.

I treat my 500mW 532nm as a weapon, like most lasers should be treated :yh:

My thoughts exactly, i believe you are going to want to have a least one really good burner 2 plus watts and 445nm is the obvious choice ,and easiest availability certainly on the forum with our people that build them .The rest well go for it. The 589nm your going to need a miracle and same with the rest of the exotic colors getting that power.

Yea haha, not really expecting to ever have a 500mW 589/500nm PL-E PRO, but one can always hope

Hope it one hand , .......you know the rest ;) jk man.

Hey I'm sure they said the guy who wanted a 3w 445 was out of his mind too back in the DVD burner days :)
