Laser ban in Australia, is it law?

They can't fully ban lasers, you still have DVD/blu-ray burners/player/laser printers etc. If they were gonna ban all lasers over 1mw, bye bye all those things, which i highly doubt what happen.


They are not banning the import of products that contain laser diodes, they are merely banning hand held lasers that have a power >1mW.
pointing them at planes gives you 10+ years in jail, as it is now considered a weapon =/

if australia banned everything that used lasers, first thing i would do is move to america! ;D
 
If ALL laser products were banned, there go computers too. 99.9% of computers these days have an optical drive in them.

If that happened, I would be outta Australia so fast! I'd go to America too, since I'm planning on moving there in 2 years anyway :)

(I may not be too fond of America, but there are two things you cannot doubt. All the cool stuff is in America, and all the opportunities are there too).
