Re: My first laser in 445nm class4 ?

For your first purchase I would recommend a good pair of laser safety glasses.
As for you first laser... I would not recommend a 1watt laser.

Re: My first laser in 445nm class4 ?

laser safety glasses. that is ok.
Is not my first laser, i have already

- 532nm @ 5mw & @ 50mw
- 405nm @180mw ,
- 630nm @ 250mw, & 1mw ^^
- 808nm @ 300mw
- 445nm @ 1w Now

and for my newest 445 what is the good cycle for have a good lifespan ?

Re: My first laser in 445nm class4 ?

Nice build!
How big heatsink does the host have..?
What's the duty cycle?

Re: My first laser in 445nm class4 ?

my heatsink is supplied with the laser host see the next picture for more detail

We've been playing with lasers much more powerful than yours. So you will only impress the n00bs.

Good job on the build though.

I have no doubt, 1W + is quite satisfying :) more powerful, I do not see the interest be set by a more visible because I think in terms of light output and 1Wblue equal in brightness has a green 150-200mw no ?

I have a 1W 445nm in a Mohrenberg host set at 1.25A with a 3 element glass lens which probably delivers from 800-1000mW. When I compare it to my 50mW 532nm, the green seems to be brightest, but that is due to the fact that green is so much more visible for the human eye, eventhough the blue beam packs a lot more energy. From my own findings, when it comes to visibility, I would suspect that a 150-200mW 532 would be a lot brighter than 1W of 445.

I know a 2W 445 is equal to about a 145mw 532nm in terms of brightness.

So, 1 W = Maybe about 100mw 532nm
