I would have used a couple of timer relays and/or 555s to drive a FET, but if you're having fun, more power to you. A great aspect of engineering is that there are many correct answers.

Having fun is more important than the result ATM. So many times I do projects and the end result is simply, Yeah it works. Now what.....


I havn't done Pic programming for many years. It was nice to get into it again. I will most likely use another Pic to control the Charging circuit. The Main IC will be a PWM Chip but the Pic will control the Shutdown Pin.
