Just starting out, need ideas

I'm just starting out, and I DO NOT wan't anything that will be really dangerous. I currently have a 5mw DX laser, and I love it, but I'm looking to get a purple laser. Is this:

$11.30 - 5mW 405nm Blue-Violet/Royal Purple Laser Pen (2*AAA) - Purple Lasers

Safe?

Any recommendations for laser safety and getting cheap lasers? I like my eyes the way they are, and I really don't have any desire to get anything more powerful than 5mw, maybe 10.

Any help would be great.

BTW, if that laser is safe, would u recommend that laser or this one:

if you plan on being with this hobby for a while, i would recommend a laser power meter. that way you always know what level your laser is at. 5mw and less is considered safe. but those lasers you link to are probably over spec. while they wont be monsters of power they pose a risk to you and others from stray reflections. when ever you arent sure of a lasers power you should wear approved safety goggles. and wear them any time you are using high powered too. also a little common sense goes a long way.
