Just bought a 3 Watt IR/Red Laser

From Darkarmyofone. Sooo How do you think I will like it. I guess it also has a 500mw Red in it too so you can see where you are pointing. The only thing I'm scared about is sight, Does anyone have a site with glasses for this kind of laser (OEM confuses me a bit).

Yeah I'm excited, Kryton Beast is the host. Can anyone give me an estimate of the Duty Cycle, Dark Is asleep

Anyways can someone help me with Glasses. What OD ratings do I need? Since I need a pair for IR and red

EEEEEEEEK I've kinda found that I can get an IR and Red goggle, but for the red it's only OD 2-3. So hopefully The 500mw red moounted inside won't be too strong, I'm scared

OD 3 means you can devide the power of the beam by 1000 meaning you will be down to 0.5mW through the glasses, this is a sufficient eye safe level.

What do you guys think of this build, doesn't seem like theres anything like it ATM

heres the glasses I found that will be perfectly fine, ELX - YAG, Harmonics, 671nm Protection ELX Laser Protective Eyewear [NOR-ELX-EN207] - $142.10

if you look at the specs they drop to OD 2 on the lower 600nm side, but around 650 (where I think I am getting) its good


Let's just hope the Red Diode isn't over 500mw

You really only need OD 2 for the red and OD 3 for the IR...

But with OD 5 for all, you should be completely safe.

And its not a kryton beast, unless your willing to wait two months, i had to settle for a different "but almost as efficient model" hope you dont mind. this is a serious project, custom mounts have been ordered, and are in production as we speak.
