JetLasers or Spartan?

Hello folks,

As many of you know I got rid of my Laserglow pointer collection as a means of being able to move into *more realistic* priced lasers. I've been eyeing JetLasers and the Spartan units from Dragon Lasers.

I like both, but honestly like the more subtle look of a Spartan. I was originally going to get a 50mW 589nm yellow from them, but spending $419 might be a little too much right now(saying that coming from LG ).

I like to build my collection in order, so in this one I would like to start at 405nm and work my way up. Dragon Lasers offers Spartans in 405nm, 447nm, 473nm, 532nm, 589nm & 637nm which would make a pretty good rainbow(for much cheaper)!

Edit: I do think I'll get a 589nm first. Haven't seen a yellow in soooo long

Don't miss the fact that JetLasers also make a great 462/465nm blue at very reasonable price, also

so JetLasers offers 405nm, 445nm, 462nm/465nm, and 473nm violet to blue and bluer and bluest

I don't think there would be much of a color difference between 462nm & 473nm so I feel spending $200+ would be a waste(to me).

I'll just order my 589nm next week and see where it goes from there :beer:

Actually there is quite a big difference in color form my 462nm lasers and my 470nm. There's no way you wouldn't immediately see the difference. Obviously you have a phobia against owning from different companies lol. That's OK though as I was sharing a couple of my phobias with GSS last week and he had me laughing so hard I had to beg him to stop: ) Speaking of which do we have a phobia thread or do I need to start one....
That being said, I would skip the 462/4 if I had too and do the 447 and 473 like it looks like you are doing.
What I'm confused about though is what power are you looking at as I see the 589nm is offered in a 5mW but others are not. You can't get 5mW in some unless you talked to them and they are going to set them special for you or you are going to buy pens too. I see the lowest 532nm is 150mW in a Viper, 638nm is a 50MW viper, 405nm Aurora is a 10mW, 447nm ie a 1W Spartan or a 50mW Viper 450nm.

Yeah!

I'll buy the 589, then the LPM then see where I go from there. I'll possibly buy a 405nm Spartan a work my way up to a full rainbow
