It seems that the coil where the battery sits is twisted off to the side, I tried pushing it over but it's not lighting up very good if I turn the laser the opposite way from which it is twisted.

I checked our other one, same model, and that ones coil is also twisted. The exact same way too.

Is this just a manufacturing mistake? I'd use tweezers to put it in place but I do not want to break the laser. Any idea on how to fix this? Although it still works fine mostly, I hadn't noticed this problem till now.

If it's making contact with the host when it
isn't supposed to, then this is not good.
Take some tweezers and bend that thing
back into shape.

Agree, pic(s) usually needed for best answer to issues. Shouldn't be touching anything other than the battery.
Guessing at what kind of laser we are talking about, here's a couple of solutiuons.
You can potentially get around this problem if you put a piece of tape around the battery end so that it will stick out enough to slide over the spring so it can no longer physically touch the wall if you are afraid of breaking the spring. You could also cut a piece of thick paper and wrap it around itself (like making a straw) and slide it down inside the tube as long as it isn't too thick to prevent the battery from sliding in. Use Somthing like photo paper or regular printing paper but wrapped around itself more than once

It sounds like Pman has the easiest, most economical solution, if the problem is with the spring touching anything but the battery. That's what I'd try first.

Another way to keep the spring centered in the battery tube is a spacer/guide that is made of a non conductive material like nylon, or fiber.
This is a more involved fix that requires the spacer to be epoxied to the bottom of the tube, but it works very well.
Still, pics are the best way to see what is going on.

Jetlasers use such a spacer in their Ti-B series lasers. (See pic. below)

Arielle you're a girl right? Carefully cut an o-ring from an old lip gloss cap. That should work as a good spacer.

It already has one of the rubber type o shaped things there, the problem is the hole is cut off to the side. I changed the battery and when putting the battery in I pushed it to the side because tweezers didn't work and it worked great, c:


(I'd try the lipstick thing if I owned any lipstick, all I have is some old lipgloss though, (not the kind you screw up)
