Is this a sign of the diode degrading?

I discovered these "ripple" like pattern when i defocus my laser, at first i thought my lens is scratched, so i remove the lens completely and i still see the pattern, is this a sign of my diode degrading and going to die soon?

Probably not. Most 445nm diodes are multimode, so seeing interference effects in the beam is normal.

That could have multiple explanations, but not likely a degrading diode.

The bar patterns are a result of the multimode diode.

The ripples could be defects on the cavity mirrors, but more likely the diode window.

Nothing to worry about, almost every diode has those artifacts.

My two diodes have the same ripples more or less, this is pretty normal, I have seen this artifacts even in single mode diodes, I always thought it was normal. If there had been COD probably you will see holes in the radiation pattern.
