I took a look at the price on their website for the exact same item. They want $200 more on their website. I wonder if it is HeNe or DPSS though. I could come up with my own housing and I'm sure I could someone that is good enough at soldering some wires to do that.

Looks like HeNe. HV power supply... plus the title of the auction:

"594nm YELLOW HELIUM NEON LASER & POWER SUPPLY hene dpss"

Yeah, I noticed that but they also mention dpss in the title. Their website doesn't say anything about dpss though so I assumed it is HeNe. They probably did that so they could get more hits.

Yup - it is WAY over priced, as are most of MI's Fleabay auctions - I see identical items on Fleabay for less than 1/4 of what they START their auctions at most of the time. Keep your eyes peeled - if you REALLY want a yellow HeNe, you will find a much better deal there, other than at MI. I have heard they make good glass lenses, though
