Is there a key-lock switch for this host?

Hi Avatar,
Not for the SL at the time , if they did you would need a side button host.

Rich:)

A couple of higher quality alternative sources for the key-lock switch style are either Jetlasers, or Laserbtb, they both have what you are looking for.

Not sure is the is the best thread to post this on (as opposed to starting a new one) but ...

Do you all think that a tumbler based key is really that much better than a dongle based key for laser safety? It seems that dongles can be cheaper and take up less space in the host that a tumbler based key.

A simple resistor based dongle could connect points A and B with a 4K resister and points A and C with a 7K resister. The laser would just have to the electronics in a circuit that tests the resistance between the points and allows for some tolerance.

I can't see why the dongle would be less safe, sure an unauthorized person can build a duplicate dongle, but defeating an electronic tumbler switch is pretty easy too. The idea with the key is to, prevent a child or someone who doesn't know he/she is dealing with a dangerous object from turning on the beam..
