So i was extracting my diode of of the sled. got it out and i was removing the last little piece that it is glued in to. when i was workin on it it popped out and hit the ground!! what r the chances that its still ok??? any info would be great! thnx.

It's probably still ok. Assuming the glass on the diode didn't break.

Only way to test it is to try it out.....

50 / 50. I've dropped two like that and the PHR died and the SF-AW210, surprisingly enough, was just fine and still works great. Like Tabish said though, really the only way is to hook it up and test it.

I've dropped more than I can remember. I cannot remember one that died simply from dropping it.

Peace,
dave

did it fall on concrete.. carpet.. tiles? only way to see if it works is to test it (as mentioned above!) also chech there is no damage to the front part of the diode where the glass bit is! if so.. sorry you need a new one :cryyy: (you can try fixing it, if its expensive like a 8x for example! but if its a PHR or a LPC just replace it.. not worth the trouble IMO)

hope that helped -Adrian

well just make it clear where did it drop.. but for me, i usually have a secure workplace where i can protect my diodes when im working...

dropping diodes, sometimes they die sometimes they dont..

the best way is to test it..

Mine was for example, one I had did and one didn't. That's the odds on my end though, it does die or it doesn't. Daguin hasn't had any die from dropping them he stated. ;)

I bet he gets the picture now though since you told him only one member needs to tell him but we've all had different results and according to where it dropped it may or may not work. Ah, variables :p
