Hi guys i've been reading on alot of the success stories and stuff about powerful lasers and such, and was just wondering...
Do Senkats dvd-r LD's have IR filters ? i know with IR filters it'll decrease burning power but it wouldnt be worth risking your eyes. Also even with the goggles you would need IR filter goggles. If the LD's don't have filters where could we get some ?

Red lasers don't emit IR. It's the greens that do because they use an IR pump diode and Nd:YVo4 crystal to convert the 808nm IR (or near IR) into 1064nm (deeper IR) then frequency double it with a KTP crystal to 532nm. That gives a little leftover IR from what isn't converted and requires an IR filter. Red laser diodes only emit red. No need to worry.
