To retain an IR Filter in the head cap of a pointer, I find that an "O-ring" located as shown, works very well rather than gluing. Use an "O-ring" that has an outside diameter slightly larger than the inside diameter of the head cap. Several advantages of this method are: not messy like gluing., not permanent and easily removed, reduced damage to coating compared to gluing and filter is protected by end cap.
