IR diodes from DVD burners

I searched some info in the forum, hope did well, but couldn't find any appropriate information for my questions.

Was wondering if I want to build a laser with the IR ( or near IR, whatever they are) diodes found on the 20x burning units:

*How much power are they capable of outputting?
*How much current on the diode?
*How much voltage?
*Pins diagram

Much appreciated if you could help me answering this questions.

They're probably not more than a few mW, not worth doing imho. If you want IR, there are diodes in the W range available.
 
For a 5.6mm package type you can safely run 150mW of 780nm IIRC and the larger strange looking ones will go a bit more. After all ,they are burners for CD up to 48 or 52x write speed.

As far as IR diodes go, these will prodice a nicer beam (though invisible) they are single mode which is hard to find in 808nm diodes, even in the lower power ranges.

*How much power are they capable of outputting? 150-200mW
*How much current on the diode? no more than250mA
*How much voltage? same as the 650nm from the sled, 2.5-3v
