Hello LPF. I have just begun posting around here after a couple months of lurking. I have built a number of laser projects several years ago unaware of the existence of this community and have just gotten back into the hobby after a recent move. I am just as interested in the physics/basic principles/theory as I am in the actual construction of lasers. I like to keep my hands dirty with a project in the oven at all times, but usually have 4 or 5 "thought" projects going on for each build I'm working on. This looks like a great place to find both parts and information, and I look forward to further participation in the forum.
I'm currently working on a project using a new arrival to DX that I think will make a pretty sweet low-cost host. No more details until the big reveal (assuming it all comes together), but as a hint, I prefer compact and elegant over things like this:
Although, I have to admit that could make a cool if not unique build for a much lower cost than a custom turned host - for someone else:undecided:
