IR light appears to the camera as a DIM red or a purplish white for the cheapest of cameras. This was a bright red.

Just look at the crappy picture at the end of the second clip, pause it and you'll see it.

In other words, if I put this thing on a heatsink and put in aixiz module it will make laser beam. I think it is 650nm, but not sure.

And yes, it is a diode die. And yes, it is ALSO a crystal, technically. It just has a diode grown on top of it. :na:
