Hello. I'm new here so sorry for any possible mistakes.
I want to make my own laser. I made my own current regulator but it's simple, no impulse. I drove my 16x laser diode with its own heatsink to 200mA and it's very bright. I ask you guys, does it worth it to make an impulse current regulator. Will i be able to take the diode safely to let's say 300-350 mAmps ?
If so, what frequency should i use for the impulses?

You mean pulsed operation? Not worth your time. The peak power goes up, but the average power remains the same or decreases.

yes, a pulse source... ok if so, for a standard 16x dvd-rw (asus) diode is the 200mAmps to high? or can i go upper? i ask this because i read here and elsewhere and everyone has its own version...
