important: dont forget to change hosts file back

hey guys plz remember to change ur host file back if u changed it


if u cahnge it back and it goes to the old site keep it i guess, but keep checking every so often.... and once u change it and new site works there i no need to have that line in there anymore

this DNS change was engineered well by decrementing the TTL value to make it as fast as possible..pzl let me know if any problems

Hi for some reason the hosts.txt can not be changed to just "hosts" it justs stays in the .txt format.

Seems like the DNS propagated quickly in under 5 minutes for me. Although I couldn't actually login until now. Looks good Cold, nice job.

Benny, right click on the host file and go to properties. Uncheck read only and then apply.

yeh i engineered the DNS to have TTL decrement a few days ago in order to mimize downtime, i am honestly amazed it went so quick though lol

k1k can u test taht email notifications work?

feel free to try making a new account as well on LPF to test email reg

I'm not on the new Server Host File it is Remmed... I'm using the old Server Host File...
and it works just fine...

That change was amazingly fast, I didn't expect to be able to delete the host file again after only 1 day! Thanks c0ld!

I have 2 problems however: Even though everything to do with LPF is whitelisted on my e-mail a random amount of notifications end up in the junk folder while a random number pass into my inbox with no problems.
Also, the links I am receiving by notifications do not work! They all direct me to the homepage. For example, if I click on
http://www.laserpointerforums.com/laser_pointer_forums_3/forum/buy-sell-trade/41293-desert-eagle-co2-pistol-will-trade-laser-parts.html#post539884 I get this: www.laserpointerforums.com/#post539884 and I am simply at the homepage again.

You have to delete all the ones with the "/laser_pointer_forums_3/" after the forum address. That was the old server. All the rest after those will be the valid ones.
