I got my 111mw blu ray. It is ergonomic, fits in my pocket and is powerful. When I first got it I was in my car for lunch at work(had it shipped to my work). I turned it on and focused it on the black polyurethane steering wheel horn cover. No sooner did I get it focused and smoke started rising. DAMN, now there is a shiny spot on my steering wheel. I took it inside to show a couple co-workers and a guy asked if it would burn paper. I said, no, the white paper is too reflective and wont burn. He tried it anyway and damn if it didn't burn about as fast as my steering wheel. With cool little red embers as it went. I had fun that day cause I work as an Injection molding engineer and there is lots of plastic to burn. This laser burns faster than my 245mw green one.
Igor did some nice work on this and I'm very happy with it. Thanks for a good laser at a great price!
I'll send a shot of it burning white paper soon. Seems I never have the time for the important things in life, like LASERS!!!

I am very glad you like it Craig!

I wanted to make a video of the paper burning, but i never have time.. I tried on a sheet of paper, that was slightly raised, and i burned a circle into it, untill that circle just fell in! :o I always believed white paper was impossible to burn with a laser of this power...

Anyway, looking forward to those pictures! :)

P.S. You'll be getting custom warning labels for your blu rays in an envelope. ;)

Is the beam of this blue-ray laser visible in the night sky without fog?
If so my wife really want to have one. (its her favorite color)   :)

Yeah the beam is quite visible with anything above 100mw when it is very dark outside without fog and such. Looks very nice actually, just don't expect it to pop like a greenie. It is a very unique/special looking beam. If you are in a place that gets very dark without ambient lighting, it is quite breathtaking actually, one of my favorite lasers.

If there is a lot of ambient light then looking at the beam from behind the source is sometimes necessary but it is still clearly visible, not really a problem as you are pointing with your hand.

I definitely recommend, getting one for the wife, but be warned youll want one for yourself too ;D.

Does the 405nm burn white paper so well because the optical bleaches in the white paper actually absorb the 405nm light and then fluoresce some of it back, whereas the 532nm is just reflected?

This is white paper burning. White paper towels seem to never burn nor do napkins at the restaurant. The paper in this Mpeg is right out of my printer. It burns all the way through and the time it took to watch the video it went about one inch. I've had fun burning out the eyes of dead presidents. And then pointing out the strange occurance to the clerk.
If you have a chance to do business with Igor you wont regret it. I only wish he lived here so we could hang out.

Hehe, thanks, but you confused something. I didn't charge you for work, but for the parts, because putting a laser in a box is easy. ;)
