I want to build my first laser, is this video a good start?

Diodes on eBay are fine as long as you know the seller. You can buy from Techhood, Existotem or Newgazer......all the same companies, or Laserland, but it's cheaper to go to Laserland's site and buy. I have bought many diodes from all of these vendors without problems.
