Hi, guys I need some help for my project. I bought a very low power green laser pointer and I want to modify it whit DVD diode. I plan to use its body. Unfortunately my budget is quite limited. I had only 13-25 USD for this project. Can I buy old DVD burner for 6 USD , adjustable laser driver for 4-7 USD to 300 or 500 mw max.
Adjustable Current Laser Diode Driver 80 500mA w TTL | eBay, Laser Diode Driver Board 20 300mA TTL Control Adjustable Current | eBay

This is a low power laser pointer.

Do you think can I use its laser module or need to buy another? Size is pretty crazy, I could not find another similar size?

Can I use old lens for focusing or have to buy a new.Only found these 650nm 2 Layer Glass Laser Collimation Lens M990 5 10 5mm Frame w H Cushion Ring | eBay lens will fit to this laser module.

I hope you can help me with guidance and advice. I apologize for my bad English I use translator.

I guess you want change from green to red?
If yes, just push the old diode out and push the new diode in
Set the driver current with a test load and solder on to the diode
For the lens, I think you can just use it as it might be plastic and uncoated. I'm not sure if it will melt.
