sorry about this everone i am new to this and bit of a noob at it to...
i just got this laser of my cousin and there was a problem with it. It is a 100mw green laser pointer with a pocket clip, the button you push for the laser to come out is how can i say, like loose it doesnt push anything it goes up and down as if there is nufin to push into but when i open the laser in half i can see the button it pushes inside the laser seems to be jammed in.

Plz can someone help me or give me a tutorial on how to fix this....plz

How about posting a picture or two of it ? It SOUNDS like the button is missing the switch - sometimes, the hard button can push the entire PCB aside, and mangle items inside the laser :( Take a pair of tweezers, and carefully push the button back into its' hole - be cautious you don't damage the PCB while doing this !

YES...ur like the person who understood what i am trying to say, iv asked my other person and i dont think he understood what i was saying, so once its open in half (my laser) do u want me to pull the button out of the laser and pop it out or pop it out without taking it out. (sorry i cant post any pictures coz i aint got no camera.

IF you can fit two slim screwdrivers in there - hold one on the PCB, with a TINY bit of pressure - away from the button....while you use the other to push the button back into place. There is most likely some foam, or a piece of plastic around the PCB that is supposed to prevent this from happening, but it doesn't always work, as you have seen :P The button needs to be able to hit the mechanical switch, in order to operate the laser. OR you can remove the button, and use an ink pen to turn the laser on and off - I don't recommend that, though - there's a really good chance you will bust the PCB operating it like that ;)

ye its been pushed down, i might and try 2 use a pair of knives right now and get back on here in bout 10 mins.

thx

brb

BTW the laser light doesnt come on anymore either since this has happened.

forgot to add that in to.

and it seems to hard to pop it back up becoz its looks like its lbeen pushed down to hard and even the knife is to hard to pop it back up...is there a way of taing it out or how can i take out the mechanical swith and there is a piece of plastic, no foam around it.

nah it seems i cant pop it out, is there anything else i can do, maybe i could take it out but i just dont know how to.

srry bout this too im just a noob to this.

Okay - is this laser what is commonly referred to as "New-wish" style ? Does it have lots of dimples on the body of the laser, and does it unscrew in the middle ? If so - most of those CAN be taken apart by GENTLY pulling off the silvery aperture cap....do a search in this section for how to disassemble the New Wish style lasers, and give that a shot....

i found this pic, you see that square button inside the box on thr right and that is the button that has been pushed down, but the thing is that whole thing is in the top half and i can see that square button has been pushed down and i need to get it poped back up so i can get the beam working.

guess what i found this topic in the forums, laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214399116 i think this is exactly the same problem i have...i might take it to my mates house and see if his dad can fix.

I'll tell use if it gets fixed.

how do you take out the diode out of your laser...it seems that the top part is unsrewable...

Please post some pictures (on Imageshack or something) because it really is hard to diagnose something without them.
