I need help on a custom made laser

Is it possible that you could get the dimensions of part of your gun that can be used to house this laser?
"About a pen" will not suffice as an answer.

I can make a (rough) drawing of what I need the gun dimensions are unimportant. When I get the laser I am going to have the part made to mount it internally. And what I am doing is legal I have my FFL. I just have no knowledge of lasers.
 
I am willing to pay to have some stuff made too I am not looking for a handout here.
 
Right, it doesn't sound illegal, just a unique application.
A rough drawing, MS paint, would help a lot.
 
I could probably take apart one of my cheap 5mw red lasers and put this neat little toggle switch into it as long as all my assumptions about the laser are correct. But I do understand how a laser works and how the pressing of a switch activates the laser, yes. If not, I break one of atleast 20 low powered red lasers I have sitting around.
 
I would almost say he's trying to make a laser boresight, which is also availble in stores, the only thing is I'm betting he's wanting to use it on a .22 which is a bit tricky to do unless you get a laser thats made into a round so that it could actually be chambered.

Almost forgot if its a .22 your talking a 5.6mm hole.... or it could be a BB or pellet gun which is roughly the same size or smaller.

So, the dimensions might not be set in stone.
 
Hmmmm, I'm now seriously confused, it souds like you want a boresight laser but you already said your not, or a laser sight but it seems like you're wanting to make a very specific one, but from understanding there isn't a lot of room for a laser to be "embeded" into a gun. The closest thing I can think of is your trying to make a laser sight mounted into say the handle of a pistol, not so much mounted under the barrel and in front of the trigger guard, sort of like...I think barret makes a gun with a built in laser sight.

I could be wrong on any one of those ideas.

Yea fenz, I was thinking the same thing since the dia of a diode is 5.6mm, but I think there are some 3.8mm ones but to my knowledge they are rare.

I need the size of the laser tubing to be the size of a bic pen if possible and about 2 inches long.
 
Not going to happen. Especially on a green. 12mm is about the smallest in diameter your going to find anything that's not 'custom' which translates to 'really expensive'.
