so its my first post here

i came across this forum long time ago(2 or 3 years :thinking: ).

so i made this laser that work properly, with a red laser diode like this one (its not the on in the picture, i just mean that it dont have a cover like this one )

from a pc dvd wr LG

but its not really powerful, its not burning anything, and i dont know if i have to remove the laser diode from its case or not, i will be very glad if you take a look at the pictures below and tell me what is wrong, and what i have to add/remove(i think i might add some more components) , and what can i do to make the dot go straight(any lens or something), and any other suggestion is welcome.



(the led is a witness led, nothing more)

( in the black diode there is written "TT4001")

Howdy! Wooooohhoooooo.... lookie at that crackled lense ye got there partner. Now I don rightly know, but I reckon you may have a problem there. Wrangle them doggies in, son!

but why it doesn't burn...
is it the laser diode is weak or the electronics need more enhancement?

The pattern on the lens looks like reflection of wall to me .. not crack ..

You need an Aixiz module for that laser...

ah yeah!... those are no cracks they are the reflection of the window bars

i can change the hole electronic if it will make it perform better

I would extract the diode. There are several videos on this site showing how to do that. Then you would have a better idea.

Then I think you need a $5 axiZ module with lens. You need a focusing lens to burn.

Also, I have no idea whether you have enough power to burn.

I've been on the forum since just after Xmas and I've learned a ton.

Dig around in the DIY build it yourself section.

HighTechDealZ - High Tech DealZ or DTR have axiz modules, but I don't know if your diode fits, is it not an "open can" model ? I don't know if axiz module will work
