Any help or links would be appreciated

:)

I had a feeling it would come to that...

Is it seriously the only way?

i have seen this asked multiple times theres a lot of different ways ,the way i use is wrap the top piece your trying to remove in a small piece of leather to prevent scaring it then grab it with pliers firmly bend it/wiggle back and forth it will come off and it will be re-usable i have done it about 7 times so far works great although there are many onther methods to remove that cap on here so you may want to read up !!!!!

Yea just dont try to twist it off. You will rip the pins off the diode.

you know what Alex, I'm having the same problem too :( are there any tutorials with maybe steps w/ pics or something, anything

I thought john_lawson said it pretty good.

That's how I did it. but remember it still not a easy thing to do! I thought I was breaking my laser every bend I made to try to take it out. but I wasn't interested with the insides, just the case. Im not sure how to make a picture of it but just take pliers to the end and start bending and pulling apart.

yea i was gonna do john_lawson's but i still don't fully understand it, you wiggle it and not twist it, up and down, which way is "safest" if thats possible
