I need to change my 532 module and driver after I killed them with the wrong battery. The module in the host has adhesive keeping me from unscrewing it. Whats the best way to go about this? Should I use a solvent like Bestine to break up the adhesive?

I tried chipping it away but feel like I'm going to do more damage than make any progress.

Re: How to get past adhesive

If you have a heatgun could heat it up to loosen up the glue, or you could try brute force it off by putting it in a a vice with a rag to protect it and twist it really hard to break the glue. Could try both at the same time :D

Also if you don't have a heatgun you could improvise with a stove or oven, good luck :)

Heat may help, but often those things are glued in there so tight that it's hard to get any grip on anything in the module to twist or knock it out.

Thx for the replies. here is a close up pic of the piece with adhesive I need to unscrew. I would try to force it but its one of those bezel rings with 2 in dents so I can't get a good bite on it to force it. You can see some scratches from where I tried to force it.
Could I use a butane torch type lighter to try to loosen the adhesive? The module and driver are toast so I guess I couldn't hurt it any more. The blobs of adhesive are the dark spots.
