How to figure out what the voltage and current is on a diode with no ratings

I have 2 diodes i bought on ebay.
and the guy was supposed to send the drivers with them.
but he didn't, and i don't think he is going to.

200mw green nothing is written on the green one they are both already inside of a heat sink and sealed.

150mw red. model# LA-F.150-10031503

he said he originally bought them from axim.
i email axim but got no answer back.

was wondering how i can find out, what i need to run them, with a dmx board with a ttl output.

how much voltage and how much current?

any help would be great thanks and God bless.

to get the rated mw that is in the ebay listing you will need an LPM. and just to be clear, your green laser is not a diode laser like the red. it is DPSS. so it requires a lot more current to get to the desired out put mw. it says it comes with a driver. and the ttl part is for the blanking. it requires a 5v connection. also your galvos do not have mirrors.

I suggest you read up a bunch in the laser shows section. with this kit you have your work cut out for you.

The green looks like the Aixiz 50mw green lab module. If so, the usual current is 450-500mA.

what is an Lpm?
it did not come with the drivers he said it did but he did not send them.
i made some mirrors out of a frontside mirror that was inside of an old vcr camcorder.
and i have the unit working if i just shine my 50mw green laser diode onto the scanners.
but i want to be able to hook up the diodes that came with the unit.
do you have any ideas where i can get the parts i need to run the green dpss module with.

From what I saw in the Links and the info you provided...
you have no Drivers for the RED or the Green Module..

The wires coming out of your modules are probably directly
connected to the Red and IR Laser Diodes...
You should short the wires coming out of each module to
reduce the risk of accidentally damaging your LDs by ESD..

You will need to build or get a Driver.. Some choices are..

1) LM317 home made driver (drawings all over the Forum)
2) rkcstr Micro-Driver
3) drlava Micro FlexDrive Driver


BTW... An LPM is a Laser Power Meter
