How to ensure you receive PM's....

When I am lurking about the forum, replying or whatever - I always hit the "home" button to return me to square one when I am done with a particular thread....that way, it ensures that if a PM was sent to me, it'll pop up on my screen !
If you are using the "Dark Shadows" template - the PM count is listed at the bottom of the page, to the right. If you click on there, it'll take you to the PM section - and you can check to see if a PM you sent was sent or not by checking the Outbox....If a PM is replied to from your email browser - most likely it didn't go through - I get notifications in my email when I get a PM - and have replied to a few of those from there, before I found out it doesn't go out ! I think they all get delivered to c0ldshadow then....and is most likely kinda confusing to him !!!! LOL !
Anyways, just thought I would post this tip for everyone, as I had a few problems finding my PM's and I am sure others have, too !
 





How do you change you layout because I always had the blue one then one day it turned black and i like seeing my PMs at the top of the page instead of tiny at the bottom. Does anyone know how to change it?
 
it wont let me change the template in the options for your profile. there are two choices, darkshadow, and forum default. whenever you try to change it, it doesnt change. can someone help?

Sure ! First off, from the home screen - make sure the "re-validate session" button isn't there...if it is, click it ! Re-login there - then go to your profile. When you make the different choice in the options, you have to click the bottom button, "save changes" or change my profile, or whatever it says. Vioal ! finished ! Let me know if this doesn't work for you...

I think that would be a completely different layout.....you cannot re-organize the current layouts, only choose which one to use :( Sorry, man.
 
currently the only layout for the forum is dark shadows

im working to modify it so the PMs display on the top, so it is easier to get to
 
Thanks.. I had a couple of small "novels" I had to rewrite because I wrote them in my email......

Copy and paste ! ;D I have done the same, too ! I am sure c0ldshadow has received some pretty odd emails !! :-?
 
I should have thought of that.. I did it from work from googles web page and didnt even think to check sent mail to copy and paste... oh well.. I usually write better the second time anyway! LOL!
