How much energy costs a smoke machine?

If the kW/hr rate is 20 cents and you run a 700 watt smoke machine for 5 hours you have used 3500 watt hours or 3.5kW hrs.

The heating element isn't on the whole time. It simply keeps the chamber at a high enough temp to vaporize the liquid. It would be substantially less than that

all i know is that a fog machine can set off a smoke alarm, because i have done it before
