Ok, here's my situation.
I have a red (~650nm? who knows, but it's red) diode in a sled that I've tested with my own DIY driver. Problem is, I can't get the darn thing out of there. I just don't know what to do.
It's stuck in there not just with a press-fit, but it's glued in with that special glue stuff (all of you who have messed with a cd/dvd drive know what I'm talking about).
Any help? :)

Break the glue points and remove it as much as you can. Then put a small screwdriver like 1mm in the largest hole between the diode and the case. Slowly wiggle the diode out.
Take your time and don't rush it.

Thanks.
How/with what would you recommend getting the glue out?

Cut that bitch out with little side cutters.
like ~~~BAM~~~ done
unless you want to save the sled for some reason.

I would use a sharp hobby knife to slice off the glue as much as you can. Be careful don't cut the pins. :)
You can't really remove the glue between the diode and the case.

Allllright, thanks guys.

Now I'm off to find thew thinnest thing I have.

*EDIT*
Got it! :D
