How good is the core?

I'm looking at getting a core (provided wicked will let me use my WB on it) is it a good laser or a TPOS like I've heard a lot of their greenies are? I do realize it's a 5mw pointer, I'm only getting it bc I want a greenie and I dont think there's anything cheeper (show me a way to beat FREE! lol)

You cannot use WB's on a core, unfortunately BUT it is a decent laser for a 5mw !

DX is cheaper ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D i like the look of the core and would definatley buy one if my local shop sold them. it would be a pretty cool laser to take every where and show off.

@ things: I've heard a lot of bad stuff about DX, I only looked at them as a source for a possible 500mw IR diode and was told on good authority that even that's a waste of time.

I may still buy a core one day, or a leadlight, those seem to be good as long as tehy're the low-powered ones. I'm really holding out for a bare-diode greenie, but I Think I'll be waiting a long time...

Ashton - I SWEAR I am NOT picking on you, dude ! ALL the bad crap you heard about DX was most likely on those other two forums, right ? Take a read around here - you will find that some of the most experienced folks on here have had GREAT results with DX - all up and down the scale...I would order a greenie from them in a heartbeat !

lol, I'm just an idiot! you're not picking on me, you're helping me, there's a difference. I've seen a few things on DX, I might have them throw in a laser too when I finally order. Since it wont be free I'm in more of a hurry to get batteries for my Atek 200mw. Of course when I get my laser running again I can take a buttload of vids and upload to WL and get a free greenie that way...... (lol!)

I do like the design of the core, it is a great looking pointer. BUT you can get a 30mW version for over 10 bucks cheaper than the 5mW core. Or you could get the new 50mW version, it will put out at LEAST 5mW and it's $15 cheaper than the core, Hemlock Mike's puts out 40mW!

I bought a Core a few weeks ago. Since this is my first green laser, I have nothing to compare it to. BUT, it is a beauty! Solid brass (black painted) case. Really nice, hard plastic "gift" box. And comes with Wicked's nicely printed brochure. The beam is nice and solid at night and I'm happy with it. For the price, a nice buy.

DX lasers are good... and that's all I need to say about that.

The core is a way overpriced laser for what it is. Go with a leadlight if you must because they are much better, and with a larger MCA that would withstand more beating and last you longer.
