how do you remove a diode from a ps2 slimline

I have an old one, and am looking to make a lazer. i cant get the diode out though.

Well anyway, lazers are cool

Sorry to burst your bubble, but the PS2 only has a DVD reader, not burner, so at best, there could be a 3mW diode in it. It's not going to be much brighter then a keychain laser you can get at a flea market.

You need to take apart a DVD burner to get a high powered diode ;)

ps2 lasers are pretty useless, best thing you can do is play games on it, or make a quick lasershow.

oh well thanks anyway... for the trade in price of this i guess i could get one of those cheap blu ray diodes ;D
