How do i focus a laser ?

if you want more power per area then yes you need to set the focal point. if you set it at night in a room with smoke you will see how the beam gets super skinny somewhere with in a foot of the aperature. now if you have a powerful laser then setting it to infinity will burn also.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your laser red is the least visable.also you need to focus it to a tiny dot to be able to burn Anything with it. Um do you have a focus ring on your lazer?

Focusing a red 200mW laser to a fine point a foot away should be fine for burning. If you want the longest reach for pointing it should be focused a little wider so the beam does not converge or diverge too much. Despite what the ad says there is no way that you will see a 200mW 660nm red beam outdoors in the sunlight (don't know about shorter red wavelengths, here). You will see a very faint red beam indoors in dim light and faint but very visible sparkly beam at night.
