How do I attach a driver?

So far, I've been using round drivers that were pre-wired in pills.
Now, I want to use different hosts that will require me to wire the drivers myself.

I need to know where to start lol:p

I have an idea on how to attach round drivers to a pill:
http://www.mohgasm.com/JAD.html
but I don't exactly know why the aluminum block is attached.

I really don't know how I would use a linear drive, or something like a flex drive. :/

So far, I just know that you attach the positive ends of a diode and driver together, and the negative ends together as well. There should also be a place where you attach the positive lead of the diode to the positive contact of your host. What do you do with the negative lead? Would you ever have to use the neutral pin on the diode?

Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be oriented :)

Okay I THINK I have the basic concept of a driver inside of a pill :D

A round driver and a linear? driver can both be used within a pill, correct?

Here is what I got from these two pictures:

Pic by Moh using his round driver:

And here's a pic from one of DTR's tuts:

I labeled them according to what I thought went where lol.

I'm still not exactly sure how to attach a linear driver to a host w/o a driver pill:/ (using a spring)

Thanks guys. I'm learning a lot from these forums! LPF W00T!

Awesome! I think I know how to contract my own pill now :D bust just for future references, how would I attach a linear driver directly to the diode, and use a spring contact? I know the spring must connect to the positive lead of the driver, but where does the negative lead go to?

you just solder a spring onto the positive contact pad.

Just do what you've drawn here and you will be ok with pretty much every driver except negative regulated ones, which are mostly for IR and odd diodes.
