How come nobody has heard of a trichroic prism?

I found this on wikipedia when I was finding out ways to combine RGB into one beam, and thought it did exactly what I would need to make an RGB scanner... how come I can't find any anywhere on this forum, ebay, etc? All google finds is patents...

I just recently read at PL about someone who has done this sucessfully !

Man, this seems so simple, i too wonder why nobody has ever tried this here.
This things can be get from broken Pansonic 3CCD Camcorders
But i dont found any on eBay by the time...

This could be a breakthrough of beam combining in little space !

are these only in digital projectors or are they in 8 or 16mm one too.

The one who brought me on Trichros has got them from a Sony 3CCD Cam...
