I don't think those multimode reds wil put out both red and ir at same time. I could be wrong, but I think they are either all red, or all ir, depending how they are wired and driven. So your output should be pure red.

I meant IR filters, take a look in mikeseelctricstuff in Youtube, there he explains everything better than i do
