Hi from 1mW capped UK *sigh*

hello everyone. I keep finding links to this place in my searches, you all seem to be very knowledgeable :bowdown: so seemed a good idea to join in the fun.

Just started to get into lasers recently as the prices for relatively powerful ones has come right down, unfortunately for me the law in the UK has come right down too thanks to a BBC radio programme documenting the sale of high powered lasers on amazon/ebay. now it's illegal AFAIK to even just own something over 1mW.. pathetic huh?

welcome to the forum. you'll get much more satisfaction building your own laser rather than buying one anyway.

Thanks. yeah I agree and it's something I'm planning on doing soon. think I'll use the shell from my 1mW pen and put something decent inside.
