Hey, I'm new here, I always wanted a laser but not a red one, a blue or green would do. So does any1 have any suggestion for a laser pen either blue or green that would reach the clouds but not burn people and is visible(if any exist) at night.
Any suggestion would be great n links would be appreciated!

EDIT: oh n a question, If a laser gets pointed in the eye by mystake what would happen, never actually tried n don't plan too.

Get a green - you'll find out soon enough (right now as a matter of fact since I'm telling you) blue is far more expensive.

Really visible lasers are really dangerous to eyes, so they can never be used recklessly like toys. The brightness is not directly proportional to power but it is proportional (sort of...) to how sensitive your eyes are to the laser.
For what you said, a 50mW greenie shoud do the trick. But it will still be plenty dangerous.

Dealextreme for low prices and cheap quality.

Novalasers or Optotronics for higher prices but guaranteed quality.

I would say 30mW, because you probably won't need goggles if you are using it safely. It will have a visible beam at night. I don't think it will be able to reach the clouds, but the beam will be bright and it won't burn people. It should be safe to look at the dot, as long as you are 10 feet away or so.

Otherwise, I would go with a 75mW. You should be able to reach the clouds, but you will have to have goggles for close-up usage. You will also need to be very careful around glass and metal objects, as some light may reflect back into your eyes.

Shining any laser above 5mW in someone's eyes can have consequences. Obviously, the higher the power, the more severe the consequences. 30mW would cause extreme flash-blindness (although temporary), pain, and temporary eye damage. 75mW would most likely cause permanent eye damage and blind spots. It is not smart to shine a laser of any power in someone's eyes. (I'm not saying you would, I'm just answering your question.) You need to be careful with high-powered lasers; accidental hits can have dangerous consequences.

Blue lasers are far more complicated and inefficient, therefore they require parts that are more expensive.
