I have Metrologic 120v complete LASER that cost me $360 in 1980, puts out 2mW .8 mRad divergence. A professional research laser.
It's a HARD seal, it's the BEST!
I'm selling it for $260 inc/shipping US and should run 9000H over tens of years.
I'm working on camera downloads, so expect pics. latter.
Cheap lasers (non hard seal or all used up) last ? month/years MAX.
It's difficult to make a small power supply that puts out 1800v at 5-10mA too, needed if you just buy the raw laser tube w/mirrors attached for these checkout scanners.
You can't lug around the whole check-out scanner easy ether. Remember it's probably not
going to LASER too long. Make sure to ask if the mirrors are epoxied on; that's not good.
How long has it ran? All the optics would be cool to have.
A HeNe running 15,000 hours would be impossible, they don't make em.
Oh, a HARD seal is a glass -metal- glass/mirror anealed weld.
HeNe lasers tubes get weaker graduly till they just glow and then nothing comes out. :'(
SenKat; How old and what kind of seal on your HeNe's? Do you agree with my advice?
Cheers,
Dave [smiley=beer.gif]
I sell the HeNe power supplys for $105.
