Helping Hands - Soldering Tools

I have one of those cheap 2 clamp 'helping hands' soldering tools, but need one with like 5 hands and more joints for flexibility.
Does anyone know of a source for parts to make your own or atleast better ones?
Seems to me there should be like a lego kit for metal joints and clamps.

That is a fantastic idea! My old school helping hands really weren't very helpful anyway.

I love how modular the "squid" is. Customizing one to fit my needs will be fun.

( all of the sudden I miss my legos ) :'(
