Just purchased a green laser module from photonaholic and was wondering if it's case positive or case negative, Imgur gallery, I'm thinking it's case negative, but can anyone confirm or deny this.

and if it's case negative, how can i make it case positive to work in this host i have.

Thanks!

The best way would be to PM, Wayne (Photonoholic) and ask him.
As a general rule, most 532nm modules are case +

alrite, thanks, I PM'd him a few minutes before this thread, just a bit too excited to wait for his response.

can i test if it's case positive with a multimeter?

Yes you can, per the PM I just sent.

Also judging by the wiring, the red wire is soldered way up high close to the case, and the black wire is soldered way down low (where the button & spring would be)

Short answer, NO!
You can, but you would need to know what was what, and what did what, and know how to check a diode's polarity.

Look and see if you can see a + sign (or red wire) on the end of the driver toward the LD. If it is hooked to the case, then case +

Don't get impatient and ruin your module!!!

EDIT: Wayne beat me to the punch!

I just explained to him how to do a simple continuity test, I can research the module, I got it from Rayfoss just to be sure.

I used it briefly a few times, but with a plastic host, so it didn't really matter to me.

the continuity test showed it to be case positive. thanks for the help.

just got it installed and it looks sweet, just took a bit of DIY to get it to press-fit itself
