Hi all,

So I am noob when it comes to lasers but I am working on my senior design project and was looking for a little help.
I plan on having a setup similar to the concept of laser tag. I will have 2 laser transmitters being fired at a target and would need to determine which transmitter made a hit on target. Is there a way to frequency modulate a laser module to differentiate between the two.
Also on the receiver end, I would be using a microcontroller (Arduino Uno or similar) connected to some sort of photodiode etc, how would I be able to use this system to tell which laser made the hit.

If anyone could help me out with this or point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it :yh:

Did a google search for you, have you seen this page?

Laser tag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Read the Equipment and technology section of Wiki, equipment is made which already does this. You could build your own, but unless you like a challenge, sounds like a PITA for someone new to lasers or electronics. However, since this is a project, what I would do is investigate the equipment already out there, learn how it works and then build your own based on the same principles. Sorry I can't help more, I have too many irons in the fire of my own to study up on this subject. Maybe someone here has already worked with this kind of technology and will help, good luck.
