Hello there, I have placed an order from DinoDirect on 9/15/2011. My last experience with the company was extremely positive and everything was wonderful. (and my products met or exceeded my expectations. lol). Although, for whatever reason, DD has stopped selling lasers over 5mW to the USA.. This was supposed to take effect on 9/16/2011. My order was CONFIRMED and ACCEPTED on 9/15/2011 at around 6-7:00PM. I have not seen any activity for awhile, so I opened a case. I asked the rep whether my stuff has been shipped out or what? I see that it has been accepted into a sorting facility in Hong Kong. But no activity for several days.. I received an email with this as quoted from "Sharon" :
"Thanks for contacting us! We are writing to inform you that the item is so popular, so we need more time to customize the item. Hope you can understand! When we ship the item to you, we will send you an email. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us!Have a nice day!".
I responded:
"Thank you for your quick response. The packaged has already arrived at a shipping center in Hong Kong. How is this item being customized? Has a portion of my order actually been shipped or is in transit? It has been at a sorting facility for an unusually long time. Again, thank you for your sense of urgency. It means alot to me. "
I guess my main question is: What the hell is going on? No valid phone numbers to call, no activity, and USPS has no clue what I am talking about. I am beginning to wonder if Customs has seized one of the parts of my order.. and I'm a little paranoid. And would part of my order be canceled because of the >5mW ban? Im also scared and worried ill get a "customized order" of a bunch of crap <5mW pointers.. I ordered some decently powerful red, green, and 405 modules! (Way over 100mW)... Also their product description page and what not.. Thanks for any and all help and advice. Thanks
