I'm a UK enthusiast who loves all things weird. I have a few low-powered lasers, but I'm interested in building a 1W laser myself. I can find some parts, like laser hosts, on AliExpress, but I'm having trouble locating heatsinks. Most of the available options seem to be from the US. If anyone could help me find UK suppliers or parts on AliExpress, I would greatly appreciate it!

Have a look at UK web site: https://odicforce.com/
They offer a couple of heat sinks 16MM X 50MM for 9mm and 5.6mm diodes.
They may be able to supply other parts as well or can point you to a source in UK that does.
Have you purchased lenses or anything from the odiforce website?
Do you think that the lenses are enough reliable?
They have been listed for low prices....

this was the host i was thinking of getting for the 1w...just having problems finding the above heatsink....

any alternatives would be great....still learning alot...

It's difficult to get away with fees, taxes and custom chargers when a parcel abroad lands in your country since the delivery is not within the same country of the sender....

I have bought Eagle Pair laser safety glasses from Barnett Unlimited @Shmackitup

As you can expect, the customs charged me VAT and import fees/taxes that I paid to get the goggles delivered.

ok say if i buy somthing from us ebay ....seller ships....then i have to wait for a letter from customs with there fee before they send my goods?

ok, so after speaking to a client of mine, he has ordered a few items from the usa. if it's a low-value small item, customs probably won't check it. sometimes the seller says it's a gift. however, if it's a higher-value item, say $200, then i would have to pay customs duties on it. so, i think if it’s just small parts, i should be okay."

Anyway, once I'm happy with picking the right parts for my build, I'll make a build video on YouTube. I'm probably looking at the 2W M-type 445nm laser from Barnett. The host I’m considering is either a Convoy S6 or S8, but I haven’t decided on the driver yet.
