Hey people

The reason I’m writing this is to see what a broad range of people say.

I am building a dorcy jr with a GGW and flex drive.

I want to know what mA to set the lavadrive at to get the highest available power for a long life.

When I say long life, I mean 6 months +

I can deal with 4-5 months.

I will be getting a 405-G-1 lens soon too, but not yet.

~Thanks

Tom

for what you want, 190mA is the best current. I already told you!

Check out the DIY group! great info there

If you look at the graph all answers are there...

Refer to the pink line... Im running mine at 165ma, for loooooong life... so I should be getting ~140mW. Any where from 180-200 is the "safe" current.. but over 200 is starting to push it. As you know all diodes are not the same, and safe level for one diode might be too much for another, so choose wisely. If you go for 185ma expect around 160mw.

Hope that helped! -Adrian :D

you should be looking around the 160-170 mark. It should be fine for the GGW, I heard the SF-AW210's are very temperamental so I went with 165ma.. still get close to 150mw, and with my new lens coming in next week It should be around the 160-170 mark! which sounds awesome! BTW these are custom lens and are pretty cheap! def. cheaper then any ones here, but I will have to see their power first before I start selling them... If you need one let me know!

I want the 25-28% increase in power haha. 405-G-1 is $60 but well worth i'd say.. I will check it out. I think I will send it to dave to have a look at or build it for me. I don't want to
PHP:
ruin a nice GGW. :D

Cool, I expect around 25% increase with these lens.. but still not sure till they get here!

Good luck with the build! -Adrian

Let me know how you go with the lens, I may purchase one of yours if there are actually 25%.. or above 20%.
