Help, my 50mW laser keeps dimming

Ive had this laser now for about a year and a half and ever since ive had it, it always dims after about 2 seconds after turning it on even after changing the batteries (i am only using 1.5V batteries?) what can i do to make it work properly?

Cleaning the battery contacts ? I think your laser is EOL. Some parts like the driver just quit working properly.

Good news is you can buy new green laser pens for $4-$5.

if its a green laser its probably the crystals doing that. There's no real way if fixing that. However if you warm the laser in your hand before you turn it on, sometimes that helps.

i guess mine was the other way round.

I need to chill my Greenie with the air-con or fridge to get it back to perform tip top.
No way its getting any brighter if the temperature is more than 28c.

I agree, it could be the battery contacts, i built a laser and the batteries don't press on the spring very well, so it dims or just cuts off in certain positions.
